Road Trip
Well with the stoopid Pandemic and what not the rappy hasn't been anywhere for awhile, so time to start prepping.
Replaced rear brake pads, replaced fluid front and back with new high temp Dot4. Cleaned and lubed chain, at 62K it is about stuffed but will replace it when I get home. Checked lights, ordered Pirelli Rosso 4's hopefully here next week.
Booked in on Wednesday with my suspension guru to check all the bearings, steering head, swingarm etc.
Contemplating giving it a bath tomorrow, someone please stop me!
This is day one, but away for a week, so will be doing most of the Victorian High Country, and then back to the Snowies for the final Snowy Ride.

Have a great ride, Trevor! At the other side of the globe, the start of the riding season is on the horizon, once the current storms pass through and the chances of frost and salt on the roads have diminished. My 1K Raptor is ready to go, and the 650's shock is back at the factory for re-valving to improve the ride, I hope.
Cheers,
Nick

Oh, what model shock is it, I went with a Wilbers for mine, which is performing ok.

Nitron, made in England, hurrah! I bought a Wilbers for a smart Monster 750 I had and I guess it was OK but the upgraded-and-gold-valved forks were still harsh and revealed road ripples I'd never noticed before. I've since come to the conclusion that long-travel suspension is a Good Thing, even if it makes bikes taller than is ideal.

I am replacing the shock on my 1k V Raptor, i have fitted one from an Aprilia Falco, but i find it too harsh, so i am refitting the original, as it has a softer spring and putting back the ride height triangles as that was the best it has been, without investing in an expensive shock.

New Rosso 4's today, and fitted the brembo 19 RCS master cylinder. Quite pleased with the brakes now, don't think I will even bother with dual lines.
