Cagiva v Suzuki elctrical

G’day all,

I hope you all had a great Chrissy and I hope 2021 is better for everyone than 2020!!

I have been chasing an electrical gremlin and was wondering if the Cagiva electrical bits are same as Suzuki?

If the problem ends up being the regulator / rectifier, even though the diodes are within tolerance when checked on a multi-meter, are Suzuki TLS and / or SV the same?

I gather the starter motor is the same as Suzuki if it ends up being that??

My apologies in advance if this topic has been covered before, however I could not find a direct answer.

And another electrical component question just out of curiosity. Are the switches, throttle assembly etc on the handlebars the same as Suzuki?

Mine are starting to look their age and I would like to replace them. I have new Cagiva OEM assembly for the clutch side only.

Cheers
Boofhead

Regulator, https://www.carmoelectronics.co.uk/inde ... 2fa5122e3e
Or https://www.electrexworld.co.uk/acatalog/RR62.html (this is the TLR version which is a bit bigger but worth an email to them , they have always been helpful in the past)

The diode check will just ensure the rectifier works and the regulator could still be faulty. The only real way to check that is to measure the voltage at the battery when the engine is running. It should be ~14.5v.

But that is not always a definitive check because in my experience, I've had to replace the reg/rec at least 4 times already  , the regulator fault can be intermittent. Also note that it can take out the battery when it does finally die. So check that.

Btw the electrex world reg/rec is slightly larger in the fin department and not a straight fit see https://raptorchapter.org.uk/viewtopic. ... ket#p34660

It is my understanding the switchgear is the same as Suzuki.... but which model I couldn't be sure.
