Bleeding the rear brake

Post by norrie »

Ok so I've installed a new rear brake hose and I'm trying to bleed the brake but not having much luck. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to remove the caliper and elevate it above the master cylinder?

Thanks.
Norrie.

Hi, yes you can raise the caliper and also turn it so the bleed nipple is at the top, also, reverse bleeding can be helpful.

There are some detailed topics on the back brake if you need more info.

Had the same problem with mine the other day. Ended up un screwing the caliper and putting it on the seat and got it using small, half pumps of the brake lever
