fitting Aprillia Falco rear shock

Post by taz »

My Falco rear shock has just arrived and I can't wait to fit it
I remember reading on here somewhere you need to grind a bit off the top eye ?
well there doesn't look to be that much metal to grind a few mm off ?
so I'm a bit confused, is there a fitting guide on here I can't find one ?
if not can someone give me a quick "how to"
thanks
Keith

According to http://www.raptorchapter.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2401 you need to get rid of the 2-3mm lip from the top bush...whatever that might be!

mine fit straight in , dont know what they mean by grinding 2 to 3 mm off have had no issues the only thing i did was use the raptor shock spaces from the bottom of the shock as mine came without any they are a straight fit

Only way to do it is by taking out your original and adjust the new shock to the same dimensions (around the centre line).
Once you see them both together it will be a lot easier to see the differences.

didn't bother with it today
finished fitting new led rear light with built in indicators in the freezing bloody cold
so the soldering iron couldn't hold temp to solder the new cables, took forever, still
it's done now so thats another mod done, the new bars are next i think then the shock
then the alarm then..................................... etc
