K&N Air Filter Fitted

Well, i finally got round to fitting the K&N to my 650ie at the weekend. Eezy Peezy apart from prising off the rubbery plastic surround from the front of the tank. What a mammoth task this was with more WD40 and expletives filling the air just to get it off. My tip for anyone else contemplating this is to smear some some vaseline on the underside of the surround to aid taking it off in the future. Oh yes, and don't forget to take out the "O" ring from the base of the airbox so that the K&N seats correctly.

I would be interested to know if there is any noticeable improvement in either performance or economy.

Thanks

I fitted one in the summer to my 1000 and can't honestly say I have noticed any difference to either performance or economy. Does make the occasional backfire now though.

In all I'd say that it's not worth it to replace a good stock filter but if you need a new one anyway.....

Cheers, Fausto; I'll spend the money I've saved on some winter socks instead!
