Route 9 Tail Tidy

Post by Runs With Scissors »

Hello Folks..
I'm considering buying one of these & noticed that a few of you have already taken the plunge.
Are y'all happy with them?
I'm a little concerned about the way it moves the indicators waaay back :?
Does it look a little goofy

Trying to justify the $110 (Aussie pesos) :x & 4 week wait.

Shipping costs are a pain in the donkey.
I have all but dismissed the idea of getting MTC Radiator & Oil Cooler Guards.... 60 quid + 60 quid shipping = $275..... fek!

Rant rant.......

RWS,

See my post Taz_116 1000 V-Rap. Some pictures of mine fitted in there. I am still using the original indicators though. Gotta get some nice small ones.

I personally think it clears the back end up really well. i hated all that horrible black plastic.

In one photo it looks like the 'cator is resting on the zorst, but it isn't, not sure how that worked out like that.

Took 20 mins to fit and well worth it.

As for spray from the rear in the wet? I wear a Furygan textile jacket with white insert pannels and i haven't noticed an excess of spray up it and its been raining here in England since the beggining of May!

I fitted mine a while back and it makes a huge difference in getting rid of the clumpy stock tail end. I also fitted smaller indicators. I didn't notice any difference whatsoever in the placement of the indicators, they basically stayed were they were with the stock tail end on.

Second that (Or third, or whatever) 'cators seem to be in the same place. Only thing I'm not keen on is the plate whopping up&down, fatigue crack one day, methinks!
Doing it again, I'd reinforce, somehat (Looks tidy though)
You do, of course, get soaked, if it occasionally rains.........................

Mine went on with original flashers no problem.
I think it makes a big difference.
Agree with the wobbly plate bit though.
Could do with a bit of reinforcement behind the plate itself.

I've also been looking at the Route 9 tail tidy .
On their e-bay site , there's 2 different types for the Raptor .
One look's like it's got provision for the No. plate light , and the other look's bare , with no light ...
Anyone here got the latter fitted ???

I think there is provision for the standard light to be fitted to both types of route 9 tail tidy.
The pics show one with & one without.
They both come without a light fitted.

As to my dillema.... I spoke to Martin from MTC & he is doing his best to reduce the cost of shipping for the rad guards to Oz.
He sounds like a real good bloke.
So I'll probably put the funds in his direction 8)

Cop ya.

Hi, the one i got had provisions for the standard number plate light, but i thought it looked crappy. So i got an led numberplate light kit, i was then able to lift the numberplate right up to the rear/brake lightlens. I just stuck the led to the numberplate.

If i get chance this weekend i try and get some photos for you
