Good luck!
I just got my 650 a few months ago and it's been great fun so far.
My only advice, the electrics are very susceptable to the damp as I learned to my cost, so a liberal application of GT-85/WD-40 or similar is vital, especially this time of year.

A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Oh yes and I thought I was the only one daft enough to take a bike test in November! The examiners were considering cancelling all bike tests on the day I took mine due to gale force winds! Passed though despite a kamikazi squirrel running out under the bike! Managed to swerve round him-would have thought Tufty knew how to cross safely

Well done Leeboy, and welcome to Raptor land.
I was a bit older than you when I took my test and hadn't ridden at all for over 30 years . Passed first time and bought a Raptor 1000! What a great bike and it treated me very gently (as I did it) 'til I got my bearings. You'll have great fun, but take it easy in these conditions .
Mines a vodka and bleach please

Excellent news Lee, well done on no faults!
I took my first test 31st oct.. the test centre carpark was one thick layer of wet leaves!! The most memorable thing in my mind was the instructor barking repeatedly over the radio "BACK BRAKE ONLY!!!"
Failed that one on putting a foot down on the U turn...
Retook the test on 5th Dec.... good god it was cold, minus 2!!! I came over from France to do it in Newport.. my stomping ground, I was pillion with my hubby on his blade, I'll never forget the journey back... I was soooooo cold! Remember counting how many grey elephants between junctions to keep myself partly sane ( 1 grey elephant = 1 second!!!!)
Ohh.. just thought.. 5th dec.. that makes 3 years in a few weeks.. good excuse for a celebration!!
