Yeah I've had the tank off and run a drill up the nipple the problem is I don't know how far to go and I'm scared of drilling into the tank.

If the drill goes about 30mm i think that should be enough. Did any water come out. Have you checked fuel tap filter etc or when you turn on tap do you get a good fuel flow(may need to suck on vacuum pipe if it has a vac tap)

...or just spray some ACF50 down the drain hole first?. That stuff releases corrosion like no tomorrow. Mine was blocked, it ain't now. Possibly worth a go before drilling.

Then you can use it on alsorts to keep the lovely British summer from eating bits of your bike

If the drain is spinning then the thread has stripped, the thread is only plastic anyway, after mine blocked up twice (and left me standed one too many times) I just removed it completely and just make sure I don't overfill the tank.

If you re-attach a tube and open the filler cap, you should be able to blow through the tube. If not, it's obviously still blocked.
It isn't under pressure, so the thread isn't important. You could maybe prize the nozzle away from the knackered thread, clear the escape hole, and put tape around it to make it a push fit back into the tank.

I was just thinking if you could replace that fitting with something made of plastic that you could just super glue into the hole(once you've got the original fitting out), and attach a pipe to it, it would certainly stop it from clogging up with corrosion. I think a specialist plumbing shop might have something suitable or a bit of googling, I'll see what I can come up with........

From a quick visual of the hole in my tank, I'm guessing you need a 8mm thread. I'll dig the original one out next week, I think I know where I put it, but moving house at the moment.

I need to get the old one out first and just not had the time.
