Ride height kits
Gents,
there's another scetch showing a 28mm lift of the rear available. It's from the German Cagiva-site www.cagivaonline.de. Unfortunately it is not possible to link directly to that article. As it is different to the one shown here I would like to send it to somebody at raptorchapter to include it to this post if you like to. Just announce an email adress and I'll send it through.
Best Regards,
Mr_Moto

One question
I have just fitted bigger triangles and now have a clearance issue between chain and left exhaust link pipe
Has any one else had this problem and if so how did you get round it

on the German site they mentioned an issue occasionally: very small clearance and due to lateral play of the chain rattling against the exhaust. With Leo Vince exhausts no problems which will not help you really. Others had no problems with the kit that lifts the rear 28 mm. I haven't tried yet but will further on this year. Not too early as I have to recover first from a motorcycle accident (you won't believe it...). If you want to I can email the drawing of that triangle.

I have just fitted 2 made by a friend of mine to the drawing earlier in this post so don`t need anymore thanks.
Might just put the standard ones back on and adjust the ride height on my new shock
Thanks anyway
Get well soon

Help Please
I have just had a couple of the plates delivered from BikeFarm.
I looked at your drawing Cavia, very helpful.
Can someone tell me whether the shock needs to be back in it's original position (ie the spring) before fitting these plates as whatever way I look at it the plates they sent me none of the holes align regarding the A to S position from cavia's drawing. http://img92.imageshack.us/my.php?image=driehoekfv0.jpg -Reposted from Cavia's post just for clarity purpose
If I take it correctly the arrow on the plate means that it should be L to S but that is not the longest side on the plates they have sent me.
Any clarification would be helpful, just even to let me know I am being a dolt and missing something very easy!

Cavia,
It's my fault I explained it very badly.
Basically to me the ones that BikeFarm have sent do not seem to align but they are saying I have the correct plates.
Would you be kind enough to explain the procedure of how you put the plates on. For example is the bike off the ground when you take off the originals and put the new ones on? Does the shock (damper spring need to be back up in it's original factory position?)
Thanks
Gavin

Oh yes, off the ground!
I attached to the frame first, then the swing arm, then lifted the swing arm, joggling the sus unit with my third hand, while inserting the bolt with my teeth.
Leave all the bolts slack, 'til they're all in place, to help alignment.
Make sure the bike is secure, very easy to flip onto it's side, while you're lying there, pushing & pulling (Sounds like a shady practice.....)

Hey Gavin
Do none of the holes align?! mhhh..
I'm not a suspension specialist but i think at least 2 holes should line up L and A
But I guess bikefarm will have more knowledge than me so it should be OK
Here's how I did:
1 Loosen up the bolts on the triangles with bike on the ground
2 I use the jack from my old fiesta under the engine and leave the rap on it's sidestand (leave the bars to the left),then jack up a bit so the weight is off the rear suspension, rear wheel barely touching the ground.
3 take out the bolts from the triangles and remove them.nice time to lube the needle bearings
4 jack up a bit more so holes of the new triangles line up, new ones are indeed "higher"just as steve said so swingarm sits lower A goes on the swingarm L on the dog bone link S on the shock
5 put bike back on the ground, tighten bolts, preferrably use loctite, check if chain is clearing exhaust
but dont adjust your chain to tight because the new ride height loosens the chain a bit when the bike is standing on it's own but will go tighter as you sit on her (bla bla raving on...30 mm with bike upright under it's own weight is a nice chain slack)
6 be amazed by the new quick steering and a bit dissapointed as it now wants to wheely a bit less
cheers
No bike is ever finished!
