New owner

Post by allyfumi »

Hi all.
Became an X raptor owner 4 months ago after owning a speed triple (top bike but missed the v twin), have to say that its a great bike.
I want to give the bike a full service but i can't seem to get the carbon horns off (the manual just says remove screws but the three at the front just turn without loosening)
Any ideas?

Maybe try this,
While turning the screws, lift the horns up/away (at the front ) from the top fairing, see if that works

Mine did the same! Ignore it, undo the screws to the tank, slacken 1, remove the other frame/fairing bolts (Front of steering head, and tilt the fairing forward, inner horns then slide out, leaving access to tank bolts. 10 mins tops! Enjoy fiddling.......

Thanx for the response chaps, i'll try that steve, thanx.

While i'm here, has anyone elses seats got manky? I don't know if its my leathers that have caused it but the seat cover has pitted in several places and looks really nasty. Thinking of getting them re-covered in black suede!

Good luck in finding a black Swede, what's she going to cover it in?
