somehow ended up with a raptor

Post by andy »

Hi Folks
I am still puzzled as to how I went to my local bike shop for a can of chain lube, looked at a busa, fell in love with a speed triple, then ended part chopping my TRX for a raptor thou all in the space of an hour.
If only the chap in the shop hadn't let me take it out for a spin after I sat on it and grinned cos it just felt so right.
Maybe its because it made me feel so at home on it after less than a mile.
Perhaps it was because it made the TRX feel like a tractor in comparison,a bike that I had loved until then (and had just spent hours cleaning and fitted new rear rubber on).
Or could it just be that her indoors said no and I never do what she tells me.
Whatever the reason I now have it parked in the garage after polishing it as soon as I got home (can't get rent until tuesday),and am looking forward to many a mile on some winding roads
so as I can't ride I may as well have a few sherberts!
Drink anyone?
Andy

Hello there as well!!

I find your story a hoot because today i just went to look at bikes (you know summer coming and all) With the full intention of just deciding on which model i was going to get. Then lo and behold i ended up signing for the ownership of a 2000 raptor 1000. It took less than 20 minutes and i pick the bike up in 2 weeks from today. Still not sure what happened but there you go.

I had a test ride on one about 3 years ago and loved the sound and styling, now i'm going to own one so hopefully the ownership side will give me some smiles.

I'll keep you posted

<chuckle> That's pretty much how I ended up with mine, went up to Gosford to buy the girlfriend a new bike (they had the specific one she wanted), and walked away having bought 2 - always liked the them but got scared off in 02 when I nearly did buy a V. The sales guy caught me looking at it and tossed me the keys 45mins later, I came back with a big grin and said "sold"
