That is excellent Miz. Thanks for that. I think I have the crescent shaped bit but will confirm tomorrow when I get down on my aching knees and take a look. It gives me a much better view of what's going on down there.

Well, I've lucked out re the stand springs.
When I bought the bike I received a bag of bits and only got round to looking in there a moment ago.
Inside the bag: Stand springs and the other little bits. Just got to work out how it all goes together now.
It does appear though the switch spigot is stuck inside the spring.

Only two issues to speak of:

1/ Side stand spring. Now sorted.

2/ Gearbox knackered (engine ran sweet). Replacement lump sorted. Just waiting to be transplanted in.
