Year of manufacturing?

Post by Tikka »

Is there a way to tell the year of manufacturing of a V Raptor 1000? I tried to find it on the net with the chassisnumber but couldn't find more then that it is a Cagiva V Raptor. My V Raptor is registered in 2008 and probably stored for years before it hit the roads. I'm just wondering for how long.

They only made v raptors to 2005 i believe, should be on the bike somewhere. Yeah my bike was stored for many years, it has just over 10,000klms now. Off the subject a little i have heard they only made 600 x raptors out of the 999 . 8) Tikka how many klms does your bike have and where are you?

Mine has 19.000 km on it. I bought it with 12.000 km on it in march 2012. Normally i do a lot more km a years but a house rebuild and a shoulder injury prevented me doing more. I live in the Netherlands, region Zoetermeer. Can the year be found on the frame?

Yeah long story, mines also has vin riveted on like a plate, not sticker. i think the vin denotes the year of manufacture, i am not sure how to work out the number sequence, someone else will know.
Got this from another website, digit number 10 denotes year, some moe info here

your year of manufacture is on the other sticker at the back behind the front sticker! Looks like your code is Y (year (00) 2000 according to that website info if its correct. Seems about right for ZCGM201AAYV000380

Indeed, looks like it's a 2000 then. Poor thing, it has been locked up for 8 years before it was set free. :( :P
