Honda Rebel 125. I loved it, twas a beautiful colour, and I went everywhere on it, I then got overtaken by a moped up a steep hill, and it went down in my estimation....a whole 12.5bhp and a tonne of bike didn't suit!
Hmmmm why can't I copy google images on here?
oooo it worked! Same colour, I didn't have one of them backrest jobbies.

Re: First legal bike you had..
I had a Motobecane Mobylette (RAT 45M). I paid £45 for it while my mates all signed their lives away to ride fizz bombs etc., then while they were paying month on month for their mopeds i was saving for my Suzuki GT250 which i got 2 months before my 17th birthday (2nd hand of course, but just a few months old)
It was the right choice to get the Moby since most of the lads were still buzzing around on mopeds well after their 17th birthdays.
I still remember my GT, CRH897T .... Ahhh...Them were t'days

Re: First legal bike you had..
First legal one was a Honda 90... the D1 Bantam blew into a shower of hot sparks and profanity 3 days before my 17th
Things improved rapidly, YDS7 Yam followed soon after, passed my test on that, Ariel 350 for my 18th Birthday, turned into a 500 within the year... this is the Ariel in a later conversion (I still have her, she is family)
then this came into the fold... (I had this one 13 years)

Re: First legal bike you had..
Well due to my getting expelled from school for going there on my brothers Royal Enfield 250 and breaking a girls ankle in the playground my parents took a hizzy fit and insisted on my 16th birthday I would be legal on the road!!!
So between my savings from my part time jobs and my now generous father I got a nearly new Casal sports moped to play with. It was reasonably quick and loads of fun and gave me a taste for exploring. Backfired a bit on the parents as I used to dog the school and bog off with my mate (he had a Puch M50) to enjoy the countryside on our bikes!!!

This is exactly the same as the one I had, even the shitty brown (they called it bronze) colour.

Re: First legal bike you had..
I seemed to skip the moped stage and went straight for a CB200. Passed the test (ha ha) on my 17th birthday and it was 2 steps forward, one step back from then on.

Mine was a MIto 125 7 speed, first of the 916 shaped Mito's. Always loved my Cagivas
