Was thinking of my old pals, I see you are still very much a part of this Shebee, how about Snappy?
I don't have my third Raptor yet, have a new 2010 Buell 1125CR which are rarer than a rare thing. I may turn up at some of your meets and if you all fancy coming to some UKBEG (buell enthusiasts) meets you are more than welcome.
Hi to all my old friends, am I a blast from the past ?

All fine thanks, Angela and the 2 kids plus my eldest who is now 19. I will definitely get to a raptor meet this year and please try to attend some of the Buell ukbeg meets too. Is anybody doing the Afghan heroes ride on Mother's day?
Heres my "Black beauty"
You never saw this
But will remeber this

Verryy nice Buell
I do want one - but would have to employ a bike cleaner
the heroes run is nice in theory, but in excess of 10,000 bikes? ya gotta be joking
hmm have to think about a Raptor meet - or maybe tag onto the Buell one in Spilsby (but I hear it always rains)

I`ve been to one when it didn`t rain, was a bloody good ride there and back .I`m planning on going this year too but on the raptor not the Buell.
Patkin, how does the 1125 stack up against the raptor, any good ?.
I keep thinking of having a change but still can`t find anything that ticks as many boxes as the rap.

NOTE; bikes do not have air brakes, lofting the front wheel will have an effect on a bikes braking efficiency.

Re: Hi to all my old friends, am I a blast from the past ?
I will be totally frank with you, the Buell has more power, it is also very nimble but maybe no more so than the Raptor. The Buell was brand new for only £4995, that made it a great buy. However the Raptor is a sorted bike, the Buell brings with it a myriad of complexities. Tales of premature drive belt breakages, spurious engine and low fuel warning lights, premature failure of rear wheel bearings all compound to make Buell ownership an experience. But in common with the Raptor they identify a breed of biker that cow tows to no man (or woman). Free thinking individuals that own bikes because it represents something to them as an individual, not just another plastic rocketship bought to please the boys at the local bike meet.AZ wrote: Patkin, how does the 1125 stack up against the raptor, any good ?.
