Hi All,
I've had my little 650 for over a year now, now recently I've been finding it a little lacking in power - probably because I've now also got a CBR900RR-W which is about 150 bhp thanks to previous owners mods.
So recently I've been thinking of changing the 650 for a 1000, but I guess my question is will there be much of an advantage? Through the corners the 650 is amazing, keeps up (and catches) with anything I've followed or friends I've ridden with. The only place really is when there's a straight it gets up to 120 pretty quickly - but at that speed it all goes a bit light and vague, is the the 1000 much better?
Thanks
Brendan

Re: 650 or 1000?
Hey Brendan,
Did you upgrade in the end or have you stuck it out with the baby one?
Agree with everything you've said about the 650, it's a real weapon in the corners..
My mate has a TLS and it kills me when we get to 70 or 80mph and he just buggers off into the distance.. can only imagine what the thou is like, brutal grunt and dreamy handling.. oh to afford one

you can have a bit of fun with the extra grunt of the 1000.
but i do think the 650 is a better balanced bike, and handles better as well.

I have kept the 650 - I love it too much to get rid of it, I've got a stering damper on it now too which has made it handle better over the bumps.
Instead I've got myself a '99 Fireblade to ride as well as the Raptor
