Need the LHS engine Cover Centre Nut with seal - Suggestions

Post by Zane »

Hi all, Have a 1000 xtra raptor and my last mechanic overtightened the nut in the centre of the LHS engine cover. The one with the large Hex. Will need to purchase a new nut and seal.

Does anyone know if its the same as the TL1000S? and what I would be looking at dollar wise?

Had my 24 thousand kay service done last week. The bike runs really well and am impressed with the power too. Yay to my new mechanic.....

Zane, sorry can't help with the nut but was wondering when you said new mechanic,do you use Moto One or some one else, not aware of any other Cagiva dealers/service places.
Also re:clutch cable,no not using a Yamaha XT one yet was just asking for alternatives to genuine Cagiva one as I know they'd be pricey.

i don't know 100% for sure, but i'm betting it's the same as TL1000S. The color will be different though (raptors are silver engined, TL1000 more brown/goldish)

now there's a plan - I really should have checked over my little Bro's SV1000 while I was visiting (I think he might have noticed it was missing though  )

Zane and xraptorman have their 'White Whale' Mechanic who specialises in TL's.
Can confirm Zorro that he is the 'beez knees', as I have used him a couple of times before my move up here.

I'm sure el'Zano will give you more details.

Hi Shagger,

Yep Zane filled me in,would never use P.S. have always used M1 for my Dukes and Guzzi's but thought a mechanic more familiar with TLS's etc which Sis 'White Whale" obviously is would be the go. Why the hell is he called that or should I just guess  anyway I'm up in the hills so Tulla's a fair way so I'll see how things go.

Hi there Evan & Les,

I must admit that the bike is running a treat. Am going to get the front tyre changed Michellin Pilot Power TC, as I have one of the faulty ones on there now. As to the "White Whale" hummm dont know if I would call Sis that. Oh and he's not gay.....hehehehe.....He would most probably belt you with a crank shaft or something.....

Yep the Pilot Power CT had a faulty batch. These are the new gen tyres. I've since had the tyre changed, and from the shop went for a ride in the hills, in the wet too. They handle awesome. Great tyre...
