rear brakelight not working .. 1000

Post by snapdragon »

after replying to kriss's post in 'Raptor 650' :( I've finally woke up and realised I best put this in the 1000 section for mine in case it's different

The brakelight itself works now I've fitted the new rear light, and changed a few spade fittings but :D but still no response from the rear lever
So liklihood that it's the master cyl switch/wiring? I can see a definite crimp/pinch in that wire so it's the current suspect

in the 650 post this is suggested http://www.moto-racing.co.uk/item--HEL- ... witch.html

Any clues as to which size fits? Numptie nilskills here, and eyes(and brain) are not good enough to measure pitch :?

Im not sure on pitch - didn't occur to me to measure it

I ordered the one for the Brembo cylinder & they ask for the bike make and model to make sure - c'mon I mostly hope and pray it works

aha
from another seller (more cost so I reckon i'll be going with your recommend CG)
When using with Brembo master cylinders use '10 x 1.00mm Short' option.
-03 Copper crush washers are also required when fitting any 10 x 1mm or 10 x 1.25mm banjo bolts (x2 for single bolt, x3 for double bolt).

Pretty sure it's M10x1.0. It's a Brembo cylinder, and i believe (someone correct me if i'm wrong please) that 10x1.0 is the only pitch they use.

The only issue with fitting it to my number 3 donor bik.... erm.. i mean, Cagiva Girl's bike, was the connectors. A couple of minutes fitting the block from the original one isn't a problem though.

:bollocking: that's going to hurt ... isn't it. :ouch:

Let Weirdo think what he likes - ignorance is bliss as they say

He is only jealous cause I look after mine and hasn't got the 3000 rev glitch :nerner:

You're right CT  Shebee suggested the same thing but I'd gone and ordered the part already.
I'm going to fettle the wiring with crimps as soon as the rain stops, but if it's the switch then I'll have to wait, or get a springsprung one.

I had to replace the rear brake switch last year, one of the wires had snapped just as it goes into the top of the banjo bolt. Managed to bodge it to get it through the MOT

It's Finally arrived - can't recommend their service, promised that they'd sent it and they hadn't, so they lied

Disappointed, but the item is here now - and I'm away for the weekend and then Rappy goes in for big service and MoT on Tuesday so no time to fit it. I'll be taking it with us to Crescent Suzuki for the 'dealer' service (thought it was about time) so they can fit it for me (and probs charge loads) - ho hum :(

snapdragon,

what happened, did you manage to install it?
Do you have response from the rear lever?

Sorry to leave this 'hanging' Aloud
- the Raptor went for a major service and MoT test (general road fitness) the workshop folks decided she needed a new master cylinder on the rear brake due to insufficient braking so they fitted one and took a very long time because they couldn't at first find one to fit, so I didn't need to fit it (not even sure where I put it now)

the rear brake light now works, now it's the indicators turn to go on strike :pinch:
