V Raptor 1000 VTV

Post by swm »

Hi,

Does anyone have a good understanding of how the VTV (Vacuum Transmitting/Transmission Valve) works and how to Test?
I think it allows more air to flow into the system at low speed/idle (I'm not sure of this), and when testing it should allow air to pass in one direction. But I don't know the operating pressure?

From the manual,

"Blow into the VTV from the orange side. If the air is blown through then the VTV is in good condition"

"Blow into the VTV from the opposite side. If the air is not blown through then the VTV is in good condition"

Hi Andy,
Thank you for your reply.
I'm trying to understand how the VTV works in operation, especially an understanding of what happens, and the symptoms caused if it is faulty.
I have the Cagiva Raptor manual, but I cannot locate the above information.
Thank you again.
