Aprilia swing arm shock choice ? ride Height

Post by motojohn »

i have got hold of a nice clean mk1 millie swingarm, which i will fit later the main reason was my swing arm was damaged so i thought a upgrade would be good .
the main question is do i now have more shock choices as i was going for a aprilia falco one as it was longer to give me more ride height but are there more choices as something adjustable would be good

If it can physically fit in the space then it’s just a case of matching the top mount as the bottom is a combination of triangles and dog bones which are easily altered or new one made to accommodate new shock.another issue with an adjustable one is siting of any remote reservoir

You just can't replace your original shock/swingarm with any random shock or swingarm you can find.

Things to check when considering swingarm swap:
- Rear wheel alignment
- Chain/sprocket alignment
- Do you want to use original shock/linkage mounting points on frame and original linkage?
- Does swingarm have cutout for shock?
- Is new swingarms linkage mounting point relatively close to original?

If you are using original linkage I would recommend you to use shocks made for Raptor.
But I understand why you are looking for other options..
Check these:
- Eye-to-eye length
- Spring rate
- Travel
- Mounting point
- Need for spacers/machining?
Don't ride faster than your angels can fly !
