clutch leaver switch

Post by raptor996 »

I replaced the clutch leaver switch with a direct replacement (yamaha) sourced from my helpfull, local bike shop. As you can see the new one is slightly longer where as the old one is worn down a bit. As far as i can tell its cured the 3k glitch. The original wires are soldered to the terminals so I seperated it and used the new plunger and the old bottom bit with the wires on.

My google-fu is pretty good today, 5SE-H253N-01 seems to be from a scooter, so I'd take a punt at it being from the aerox range, like the tail light assembly?

It was just a guess, based on my perception that the builders had access to the TL1000, Aprilia RS250, and Yamaha Aerox parts bins!

But I had another little nosy around today, and despite getting a little confused when I found the Aerox appears to be automatic, I now actually think the part you're using may be a brake switch!

Whaddya reckon? http://www.scooter-works.co.uk/brake-light-switch.html looks, to me anyway, very like your white-buttoned OEM part, with http://www.pedparts.co.uk/product/63/ge ... ght-switch being the green-buttoned Yamaha part?

It does say on the parts packet 'stop switch' so it must be a universal fitment to more than one bike. I know yamaha build bikes in Italy so maybe there's a shared parts bin.
