If you are born with a limited amount of Patience, i used mine all up on Sunday..... I replaced the rear Aprilia Falco Shock with the original shock and the old 30mm ride height triangles i had. Despite putting spacers in either side of the top link of the shock, when i tightened it up, it pulled th...

Cans for sale for 650 - original or aftermarket
Looking forward to experiencing the newer technology, too. That was exactly my reason for buying the Aprilia 900 Shiver. Colour TFT, traction control, Abs, riding modes, sat nav built into the Dash etc etc. I considered the new Triumph 660 Trident and the Suzuki SV600, but the deal on a new Aprilia...

Heated Gloves
Nick, i have considered a heated jacket liner, how do you find it?
I like to ride in the recent sunny days we have had, where the roads are nice and dry but it's only 5 degrees or so as it extends the riding season.

Heated Gloves
I was thinking on the way to work this morning at a steady but fast pace, how wonderful heated clothing is. The bike showed 1 degree, and at the aforementioned pace it was a wind chill factor of -11 :brrr: But with the new winter Held Jacket (unheated) and heated under gloves all was well with the r...

Spring is on the way
Nick i had an st2 and an st4s, obviously missed out on the st4. I will have to dig out a photo of the ST2. Here is the ST4s in France on the way to Italy, with my old reg place (it went with the divorce!) Came home two up on that holiday after my mates Aprilia broke down. 1154 miles in a day ...

9 days until I put another few thousand Klm's on the rappy. It goes to work regularly tuesdays and wednesdays though. Only 62000 on the clock so technically still a youngun. :goodpost: That is a decent mileage on the bike, i have only had two bikes with more than that, bikes do tend to run and run ...

Spring is on the way
First day this year i have ridden to work!!! Yes i know there are some hardy soles who do it all year around, and i used to be one, but no more, however with some heated gloves that offset the 4 degree start this morning and the fact that it is light at both end of the day when i travel persuaded me...

New Chain Time
I thought they had geared down the raptor from the TL?
The SV 1000 is 17/40 which is a 3.6% change
I like the gearing, It makes the bike feel free and revvy, a lot like my old Ducati 748!

Ok so i have started on the next Suspension change
Well, good luck with that. 'Flowing' the valve orifices seems to make sense given the shims are supposed to be controlling throughput rather than the orifices themselves. On suspension matters, I've just got my Nitron shock back from the makers and fitted it to the 650ie Raptor. Bouncing the back-e...

Ok so i have started on the next Suspension change
I went went with GSXR600 forks and a Wilbers shock made 3mm longer than standard for mine. Very happy with the front, prob should have forked out for the fully adjustable Wilbers (mine is rebound only). Trevor where they k1,2,3 forks or later? i guess they were slightly longer? Did you keep the ori...

Ok so i have started on the next Suspension change
Having read through the suspension changes people have made, i have started working through them in order of cost :D The best the bike has been so far at the back was with the standard shock and raised triangles. I swapped that for a Falco shock, but don't like it, it's too harsh, so i have painted ...

I am replacing the shock on my 1k V Raptor, i have fitted one from an Aprilia Falco, but i find it too harsh, so i am refitting the original, as it has a softer spring and putting back the ride height triangles as that was the best it has been, without investing in an expensive shock.
