hi I once dit that to my gs 1000 streetfighter , used the standard forks and put on some 320 discs with gsxr 1100 calipers. what kind of sound do you get?
TL engines tend to make a light "knocking" sound,valve and gear thats ok.

after adjusting the valve clearance on mine it was even louder than before

enjoy those last days before the weather gets even more miserable than last "summer"
