I have kept the 650 - I love it too much to get rid of it, I've got a stering damper on it now too which has made it handle better over the bumps.
Instead I've got myself a '99 Fireblade to ride as well as the Raptor

Re: Front Wheel Removal
I had some issues the first time I tried to remove the front wheel - every other bike I've has been much easier. The trick was not to undo the pinch bolts on the oposite side to the axel bolt - I actually read the manual on how to do it and it said to undo all of them, but then the axel just spins!

Re: My Baby went bang.. :(
I had the cam chain tensioners give up on me at about 16,000 miles - had them replaced and my garage told me they're always the first thing to go on the SV motor and usually the cause of much worse happening if they're not changed. Did you notice any unusual rattles before? I hope it's just the star...

Re: Sprucing up the old girl
For the brake light, the LED replacement is from a moped, I think an Aerox or MBK unit, for LED indicators you'll need a new relay to slow them, I've done this on other bikes and it nice and simple. For the levers I've not tried any pazzo type personally but seeing as it's a standard Nissin MC I thi...

Re: Intercom
A few of my friends have got the system by blueant - they work pretty well bike2bike in normal riding, so long as you can see each other it works. I think it's around £120 per headset. I think the blueant and the Cardo Scala Rider are the best one's on the marked, I'd make my descion based on the fa...

Re: Spluttering and poping over 7 to 8000 rpm
If you only get the issue at high rev's a block in the fuel line might cause that, I think bad connections on the HT leads can cause that too.

Brakes - swapping for different calipers
Hi All,
I recently picked up some Brembo calipers that use 4 pads each - from what I can see these should bolt right on, am I right in thinking these are the same as fitted to the X Raptor's? Also anyone else swapped their calipers for different one's?
Brendan

Looks good... I was wondering a while ago if it was possible to somehow get some ducati fairings over a Raptor frame.

Re: HELP! Where to get parts????
I'm not sure where to get that specific part but there's a complete swingarm on ebay at the moment that might have it on - quite cheap, or maybe ask if you can buy the part from it?

650 or 1000?
Hi All, I've had my little 650 for over a year now, now recently I've been finding it a little lacking in power - probably because I've now also got a CBR900RR-W which is about 150 bhp thanks to previous owners mods. So recently I've been thinking of changing the 650 for a 1000, but I guess my quest...

Re: mpg
Thats pretty good.. I'm assuming you're talking about the 1000. I tend to get anything from 65 mpg (Careful riding - doesn't happen too often lol) down to around 45 mpg - thats on my 650 though. This is the best site I've found for calculating mpg :) http://www.torquecars.com/tools/uk-mpg-calculator...

Re: I really really hate the rear brake
The trouble with the Rear on the Raptor is it has some vacum system on it, I realised this after I managed to empty the whole thing of fluid. Every time you pump the rear lever you need to then re-tighten the bleed nipple or it will just suck in a load of air, or get some special one way bleed hose....
