Re: Speedo settings? Mph to Km/h??
Although the speedo will "read" in MPH the display will still state KPH. Hi, yes that's true. But the fact that this converter exists (of course for the SV but assuming it will be similar on the Raps) tells me that it is likely that there is no easier way to change that. I read on a GSX-R...

fuel tank for sale
Hi All, I'm selling a silver fuel tank for a 650 Raptor. I had a keen plan to shorten it at the back and fit it to my 1000 Rap but found out that the material is not fibre rather than nylon. So I cancelled the plan. The price is 90 Euros (which is something around 75 Pound) plus shipping costs (I ha...

Hi all, solved the problem. The gasket was crap. I bought a new one and now it works. It is a Suzuki standard part and cheaper than the Cagiva ones (and might not require waiting for ages at the Cagiva dealer...). If somebody is in need I can supply the part number (the Suzuki plastic bag should sti...

bonjiboy, have you checked the bleeder pathway that goes down from the fuel tank filler to the bottom of the bike is free. Mine was corroded at the link to the rubber-pipe (underside of the tank). If this pipe is locked the rain (and of course the spilled fuel whilst filling up...) can not escape an...

Hi, had similar problems. No pressure on the rear but no leakages at all. Bleeding the system the standard way without any vacuum pump did help little for little time. Then I removed the whole stuff, put it on a work bench and bleeded it by using a vacuum pump. It works fine since 6 month and little...

Hi Chil, a few comments as I had similar issues on my Rap1000 MY2001 when I bought it: 1). I fitted a new pair of progressive springs by WhitePower to the front. Whilst fitting them I mentioned that the pre-load adustments (which are INSIDE the fork - i.e. you have to open the fork to adjust pre-loa...

about the fuel pump seal: if the drain was blocked, there could have been a too big buildup of pressure inside the tank which made it leak; blow out the drain, or replace it, loosen the fuelpump, clean up the base of the tank and maybe use a new seal if necessary, and torque the bolts back up to sp...

@Cavia, nice Raptor - thanks for the picture and information. The hose should be long enough but it is facing to the rear which means either turning the shock 180 degrees or loosen the fixing of the hose and turn it around to the front (uups, danger...). I need to think this over. Anyway a good plac...

Fuel Tank, Extremetech rear shock,
Hi, got a few questions about my Raptor 1000, MY 2001 and hope you can help: 1). little fuel on the LHS bottom of the fuel tank around the fuel filler drain hose connection and the fuel pump assembly. Looks like the gasket between the tank and the pump is damaged but seems unlikely to me as the gask...

Hi All, new Rap1000
Hi All, even though I announced in one or two threads before (hopefully that was not too unkind), I'd like to introduce myslef. I live in Mid-West Germany, fell in love with the Raptor 3 years ago. As I have to take care for some other bikes I thought it would be nice to have an Italian with a good ...

on the German site they mentioned an issue occasionally: very small clearance and due to lateral play of the chain rattling against the exhaust. With Leo Vince exhausts no problems which will not help you really. Others had no problems with the kit that lifts the rear 28 mm. I haven't tried yet but ...

Gents, there's another scetch showing a 28mm lift of the rear available. It's from the German Cagiva-site www.cagivaonline.de. Unfortunately it is not possible to link directly to that article. As it is different to the one shown here I would like to send it to somebody at raptorchapter to include i...
