Re: Hydraulic clutch
Thanks wreckah for the parts listing and for showing me around your system the other day. I now want one even more than extra carbon  , but so far, no joy with finding the parts. With the news that the conversion is the same for the 650, I predict a run on TLR cutch parts on ebay, and breaker...

Re: Anybody fitted other wheels to their steeds?
I had a go at fitting a set of OZ wheels from the RSV to my raptor. The front wheel went on no problem, was about 2/3rds the weight and looked the mutts. The rear wheel is too wide to fit inside the Raptor swingarm, so I was going to do the RSV swingarm conversion, then changed my mind and sold the ...

Re: Bike farm jack up plates
You could try putting some spacers in where the exhaust meets the rear hanger. This pulls the link pipe out and away from the chain. Fortunately I've not had to do this myself yet, but it's worked for some - there's a picture somewhere on this board (but can't find it at mo )

Re: Bearings Help please :(
There's a post here all about the bearings issue, which list the spec. The oil seals are 22x16x4 http://www.raptorchapter.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2400 The six bearings & six oil seals would take care of all three pivots in the triangle (2 of each needed in each corner) - so you may not n...

Re: Help with Socket size for the Rear Spindle
My 28mm socket came as part of a set, but both the local hardware and independent motor shops have them also (bastidised one to make a swingarm removal tool - about £4 for a "Draper Expert".)

Re: Help with Socket size for the Rear Spindle
The chain side takes a 27mm spanner, whilst the nut on the brake side needs a 28mm spanner/socket. HTH.

Re: Paddock Stand Cups?
After damaging the speed sensor on my 650 with cups (a £125 mistake :( ) I ditched the whole paddock stand setup and went for an abba stand. Great peace of kit, and the bike is a lot more stable. You can also get an adaptor kit that allows you to take the swingarm off (something you can't do with a ...

Re: Headlights - any bright ideas?
Fitted an HID kit to mine (first inside my 650ie's round headlight, then inside my V-Raps headlight). 8) needed now! Provided your reflector is in good nick this will make a night and day difference. I have been flashed by "knowing" car drivers to dip my headlight, then enjoyed their react...

Re: Dealer / Tune up advice
Hi Chris,
It's not the triangles that they make - it's a different "dog bone" (link from chassis to make the chassis/shock/swingarm triangle), and comes complete with bearings. The idea is that you can fit this and/or the aftermarket triangles, for added lift & handing benefits.

I never knew Baines were into Raps ... Get one of the Baines brothers on the phone and they will entertain you at length with their Raptor racing exploits. Consequently, they have a love for these machines (don't we all!) and know what they are doing (and what the common faults are). Now I've bigge...

An excellent site just got better. Nice one, like it. Probably don't say this often enough, but I for one, do appreciate all the effort that goes into creating and maintaining this fine forum. This has the best community feel of any forum I've been a member of & has helped me get the most out of...

Re: 1 step forward.. 10 steps back :(
Sorry to hear about that mandie82. I had exactly the same problem on my 650ie when I let my battery go completely flat a couple of times. Left it on optimate for a week, but it would either only hold charge for 1 start if I was lucky, or repeated click if I wasn't. Bought a replacement gel battery a...
