Re: Which Oil ?

TL stands for 'ticks loudly'. :D

For cheap quality motor bike oil I use the opie oil website, fast delivery too.

Re: A sad day.

Just a quick update.

The bike has gone to the insurance company for a quote on the repair.

The bike has gone to sudden impact in Essex. I'm insured with Carol Nash, and so far they have dealt with the claim efficently. Fingers crossed.

Thanks again for the response Craig.

Re: A sad day.

Thanks for the replys everyone!

TimO if you have the bar ends and brake pedal then that would be great. How much do you want for them?

Also on my list of woe is a swing arm, as that was also damaged in the drop.

Thanks again Craig.

A sad day.

Hello! It's been a long time since I have posted on here, so I thought I'd buy a virtual round. :D Just bought a new battery for the raptor today, all went well until I tried to move the bike, slipped and watched in slow motion as the raper fell to earth with a BANG. Damage report goes something lik...

Re: Tankbag fitted

I like what you've done with the carbonfibre overlay. Was it difficult to cut to shape and bond onto the peg hangers?

Nice bike by the way!

Craig.

Re: Forks and preload.

Panic over! The nuts that hold the top of the springs in were put in upside down. I have now put the forks back in with a 145mm air gap and the correct preload, (10mm thread showing). I have used 10w fork oil, hope this makes a difference. I have also put a falco rear shock on the bike so it's now s...

Forks and preload.

Hi everyone! I have recently taken my forks to bits to renew the oil with some 10w, It was at this point that I noticed the preload was at different settings on the forks! One fork had 17mm of thread showing while the other had 25mm of thread showing. Does anyone know of the correct settings? Thanks...

Re: Brake pedal!

Just a quick thanks to Snap for the rear brake pedal supplied, it was like new!

We even had time to stop and have a non alcoholic drink in the pub.

I managed to get the Raptor in for it's MOT today with it's new pedal only for it to fail on the rear disc cracked!!!

Thanks again Snap.

Craig.

Brake pedal!

Hello.

During a lovely ride today I seem to have lost the end of my rear brake lever! All I have left is a stub! Has anyone a spare that I can buy? Or anyone know where I can buy one from?

Thanks in advance Craig.

Oh by the way it's a 2000 red raptor 1000. :D

Hi, I gave the build quality a low score on the Ride survey. I only use my bike for the summer and it's garaged over the winter. In my defence the list of parts that had snapped broken or rusted are as follows. Swing arm had rusted and required respray 10000 miles. Plastic side panel on seat ...

Hi Brendan

Any GSXR master cylinders fit......

Most Nissin cylinders should fit as they all use the same brake switch.

Just make sure that the handle bars are the same size.

Good luck

Craig.

P.S I know what you mean Cavia. Suspension is next on the list for me. Maybe a Falco rear shock!

Hi Cavia

I rode the bike into work today and it makes a vast improvement!

I found with the orignal master cylinder the brakes felt wooden but
with the new master cylinder you gain a lot of feel.

Plus you can do two fingered stoppies

Cheers Craig.
