I spent quite a lot on this bike a couple of years ago thinking I might keep it until I'm no longer able to ride, but it's got quite tatty over the last year: black coating on engine/gearbox is no longer pristine, some surface rust on the swinging arm and pillion footrest mounts, paint flaking off l...

Now this may be laughable, but I have to be really careful not to turn the key to "park" when I leave the bike. I bought a new battery before I realized that I was leaving it in "park". Maybe only someone as daft as me would do this.

I think 'gracefully' was wishful thinking on my part.

Has anyone got a pair of standard rear suspension triangles (Raptor 1000) they can sell me? The seat's too high with the raised ones fitted and I can't dismount gracefully.
OEM Motorparts says they are still on back order from Cagiva so I'm not too hopeful about getting them from them.

Thanks Aussiejoe. I didn't see your reply until just now and Mistergear don't answer the phone on a Friday. I'll call them on Monday to see if they've got them in stock. Otherwise it'll be up to six weeks on special order from NZ, it seems, according to the UK importers.

Has anyone got Givi top-box arms for a Raptor 1000? I had them on my previous Raptor but they don't seem to make them any more.

I don't know how long this forum has been going for, but fifteen years ago I don't think I was aware of forums, and had computers etc. up to my eyes at work so I didn't spend my spare time on them.

Tartan, I have just checked the reg number of the (new) Guzzi Jackal I traded my first Raptor in for, and it was an 03, so it was 15 years ago that I must have been mad. Time goes. It is really good to ride a bike that is just so well-balanced. This one doesn't leap like a demented dog from a closed...
