Replacement bars

I bent the bars on my 650 the other day when I came off, so I was wondering if anyone had fitted other bars to their raptor, and which ones are a comparable size/shape. Also, does anyone particularly reccomend a different style of bar to stock? I like the position of the stock bars, but I've always ...

Crash damage

I had a spill on some gravel helpfully deposited at a junction on my way home from Oxford yesterday. I'm ok, a few scrapes and bruises, but the bike now refuses to start. Everything looks ok, apart from some cosmetic scrapes, but when I press the ignition, the starter motor starts to turn, then a re...

I was afraid that might be the case. Thanks, I'll continue to look into it.

I just got a bellypan fitted, which is nice. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v441/BigHungryJoe/100_0218.jpg In case anyone is interested, http://www.skidmarx.co.uk/ now know how to modify their K3-onwards SV650 bellypan to fit a 650 Raptor. It just needs a bit of cutting to get around the front do...

Headlights mod

One of my few complaints about my Raptor 650 is the headlight. It's good, especially the dip beam, but when you put the main beam on the dip switches off, which gives you a great view of the road 100 yards ahead, but it'd be nice to see the potholes coming at me. Riding with the pass light on makes ...

Good luck!

I just got my 650 a few months ago and it's been great fun so far.
My only advice, the electrics are very susceptable to the damp as I learned to my cost, so a liberal application of GT-85/WD-40 or similar is vital, especially this time of year.

The electrical trouble just got worse and worse as the cold and wet drew in, and my rev counter started dropping to zero for no reason during rides. I just about got it started and rode it back to the garage to get them to have a look at it. They forgot to book it in and ended up keeping it for a we...

I'm using mine all through the winter, too poor for a car, too stuck up for public transport and too lazy for a bicycle. I had the garage sort out electrical troubles so now it's running more reliably than my girlfriend's car. Vast amounts of GT-85 has kept it looking pretty good so far, no visible ...

I don't suppose anyone happens to know (or know where to find) the colour code for the red '06 raptor 650 in the pic above?

I'm still really hoping it's just a dodgy connection somewhere, call me old fashioned, but I think a battery should at least make it to 1100 miles and two months.

I'll pick up a voltmeter and check it over, and clean and lube the battery contacts. It is very weird.

Damnit. Went to the cinema last night with my significant other on the back, and after the film the bike died again when I hit the starter. It was a bit misty and there was condensation on the bike, so I assume that's what caused it. Same as last time, took the seat off, checked the fuses, waited 10...

The mirrors are utterly useless! They look great and I don't know what the older ones are like, but you have to tuck your arms in and crane your neck to see anything. I should change them, but they're just about usable and they do look really nice, they fit the styling of the bike better than any af...

Or hint at a christmas present....
