Re: R1 forks
Hi there, they are good, it was fun boring the slot for the handlebars, as they are at an angle, but I got it done by clamping two bits of billet together, mounting them in a sliding vice at the right angle, and boring from the lathe chuck. I have about 20mm of lift, but can adjust that if I feel th...

Re: Let's talk about exhausts
Welcome to you, the stock cans are quiet, and heavy, but I don't think you will get much power gain from a change. Mine is the 1000, and research sugests there are no great gains in end can change, though I stand to be corrected, and would like to lose some weight and get a gentle burble from an exh...

Re: Back brake issues
Mine did the same, air gets trapped in the caliper, even with a bleed, I took the caliper off its mount and suspended it after pushing the pistons in, and bled it while turning it different orientations, this cleared the air, job done. It will get hot and fade out with air trapped in the caliper, or...

Yes, it's a lot of work in the preparation, but worth putting in to get a good result. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

fork pics for SR.
Putting up a couple of pics of my old forks for the atention of a member here, I could not work out how to pm them, so sorry for the boring post...
As can be seen, one mud guard lug is broken off the bottom of the fork leg, other than that they are not too bad, and will clean up some.

Re: R1 forks
It's a little bit of a challenge getting the offset right, but I will get my head round it, I'm working off a lathe, so boring the 22mm handlebar hole is easy enough, then I will have to mill the billet of ally to a template from the top clamp we have on our bikes, and cut the holes for the bolts, t...

Re: Interchangeable parts?
I bought the carbon seat trims and 'side panels' from an American ebay seller, the parts actually came from the far east, but they are on my stock 1000raptor, the side panels took a bit of gentle bending, but they are on. I am sugesting that they are the aame as v raptor, going on my experience with...

Re: Wannabe in Norfolk
They are lovely bikes, remember what motor they have... :ride: , the forks can be fixed for a few quid, so that they are quite good around, some have gone for a fork replacement, such as the r1 forks I have fitted, but equally others just oil and a spring preload spacer from some old pipe. Try and g...

Re: R1 forks
Yes, until I get my risers in I think I am about 10mm high.
Those bars sound nice, but I'm half way into creating some risers, and the bars I have will work well with them.
Once done and fitted I can raise the forks a little to lower my front end.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

Re: R1 forks
Andy B, on my standard forks, it was 420mm from bottom of lower fork yolk, or triple tree to centre of axle, on my r1 forks it is 430, both with wheel in air. I have 30mm of static sag on the r1 forks with me on it, and 10mm just the bikes weight., this may be a bit out, allowing for stiction in the...
