Just looked in, and glad you found this friendly bunch, Antony. I'm sure they will look after you.
From the look of your Suzuki, I knew that the Xtra would need a lot more cleaning that I ever gave it.
Safe riding.

Of course she said YES.  She ain't stoopid ya know! You silly, silly man. I did that (not to Cagiva Girl though) in 1985, and mine's still hanging around. Congratulations to the pair of you. 8)...

Re: Flasher relay LED indicators
Got to agree with what has already been said. An in-line resistor will trick the relay into thinking that there is a normal bulb. Some LED units already have this built in.

Good job the Raptors only pump out 33bph, or you'd have to fit a restrictor kit.Wardy wrote:55 years agoNo kids and no jag lol

I've still got a '72 RD200. It's in the loft at the moment, as there's no space to put it anywhere else.

Re: Will I make it to the petrol station?
I love these threads, I get to gloat over the 650s frugal thirst, regular 180 miles to the light with 3.5 litres in reserve making a possible 220 if I take it easy. If i rode sensibly for the whole tank I could stretch that another 50 miles. You can poke us with that stick as much as you want, but ...

Re: Will I make it to the petrol station?
I played filling station roulette today. Light was flashing for 10 miles, then it came on constant for another 7 before I stopped to fill up.
14.07 litres went in, so I still had 1.1 litres left....
109.3 miles was on the trip.

I did try to use my adjustable, but unfortunately it's only for left hand threads.

Re: same old same old... the Tyres Question
I've just had a pair of Conti Road Attacks (thats what are already on the bike) delivered. If I get my act together, I might just have to fit them tomorrow... Well, I was going to fit them today, and got scuppered before I started. Whos idea was it to use a 28mm nut on the end of the rear axle? :do...

Re: same old same old... the Tyres Question
I agree with what you have written, but find that most of a tyre's ability is in the rider's head. If a rider isn't confident in the rubber, then the tyres won't be used properly, won't warm up, and will then reinforce the rider's prejudice. If a rider is mentally happy with a tyre, they will corner...

Re: Tyre sizes
SV650 only has a 4.5" wheel as standard with the 160 width tyre. I wouldn't mind betting the 650 Rap is the same.
I would think a 180 would be a step too far. Why is it that you want to change?

Re: Gear selector part needed, help!
Uploading pic of the bit I need. Can't tell if it's specific to the rearsets but I don't think so. Any advice would be welcome, sooner I get it back on the road the better :) I think it's rear-set specific. Whenever I've bought rearsets, they have included everything up to the selector shaft. What ...
