Re: thermostat for the 1000
I fitted a hotter thermostat to my 1000 not because of any glitch but because of fuel economy and trying to reduce wear and tear. Motors wear more when they are below operating temp. I used the stock (91 deg celcius) thermostat from a daihatsu charade 3cyl. but it also fits a lot of other cars inclu...

Re: Will Honda VTR dash fit?
I think the chances if making the honda dash work are slim, the calibration of all the gauges are likely wrong and the ecu displays fault codes on the dash.
Using a suzuki dash from something with the same engine and fuel light not gauge would be your best bet, might even be plug and play.

Re: Why do TLS make 15 more hp to a raptor 1000 motor ?
I personally dont think cagiva did anything regarding the ecu mapping.
The standard map runs very rich in all the upper gears which I believe is to compensate for the added ram air flow , since the rappy doesnt have ram air this should have been tuned out.

Re: Comfy seat?
I also find the seat a bit uncomfortable after awhile. Ive tried a airhawk but the need to constantly push back away from the tank negates any extra comfort. I am planning on re-shaping the seat so it doesnt slope towards the tank and maybe a layer of softer foam. I think the biggest problem is the ...

Shock swap
Being unhappy with the rear shock I looked at suitable replacements only couldnt afford/justify the price of a Hagon. The other thing is the Hagon has limited adjustment, other shocks that did have full adjustment are extremely pricey. I found that a Triumph daytona shock is just a few mm longer , c...

Marzocchi fork mods
I wanted to reduce fork harshness which after much research I was convinced is due to excessive high speed compression dampening. Problem is fork damper cartridge is stamped closed. I addressed this by cutting it open with a hacksaw which allowed me to access internals. Raptor 017.JPG Then I pulled ...

Re: Side stand wear, switch problem and my solution
I realise this is an old thread but in the name off helping people out. Bikes should never be transported with the stand down, they are not designed for that kind of stress. The right way to tie down a bike is both sides of the handlebars should be tied to compress the front shocks then tie the rear...

Re: maintenance running issues #head scratchers#
Id be checking the injector, a dribbly injector will cause poor running when cold but come good when warm. Try running some injector cleaner through it.

Re: G'day all, can I ask your opinions on fuel pumps?
Ive had my pump assemble out (to adjust low level light) and pump looked a lot like vn,vt commodore unit. Ive fitted other brand pumps to cars before and the only worry is getting hose fittings of right size and flow/pressures same or greater.
