Re: What did you do to your Raptor today
' annoying cutting out problem cured ' What was the cause of the 'annoying cutting out problem' ??? Combination of a duff ignition switch and main relay (Yellow one under seat, replaced with a similar Ducati one). It would start up fine most times and then other times it wouldn't and very occaision...

What's the deal with front discs?
Are they all interchangeable or did they vary from year to year? I just got some Brembo front discs supposedly off a 2006 Raptor 1000 and tried fitting them to my 2001 Raptor and the internal diameter on the carriers is a couple of mm bigger on the new ones. WTF? I saw a post from Wierdo where he ma...

Re: Fork plug - where I can get one?
Take one out and measure it, there will be something that will fit from another bike, my Honda 400 Bros currently has fork caps from a Suzuki SV 650 but CBR600, VFR750 and NC30 ones would have worked too. There isn't that much range in sizes for them so you should get something, it may just be trial...

Re: Loud pipes cause heart attacks.
Gotta agree with you Mark, loud pipes are the way forward, unfortunately my Raptor is the only bike I've got with standard exhaust, the loudest bike I've got is a Honda Bros 400 with a R1 silencer that sounds fantastic. I got pulled for having a noisy pipe on my YZF750 and got a £30 fine but I'll ta...

Re: Fuel
When I got my Raptor earlier this year it had been stood for 18 months with no fuel in it and run about 3 times so consequently it was a 1000cc twin half the time and a 500 single the rest of the time. I banged a set of plugs and a tank of V-Power in it but it didn't really cure it. A mate runs a ga...

Who's was the blue raptor with loads of carbon fibre and brake calipers on adapter plates? I walked past and had a look but there was no-one around.

Re: Battery woes
Looks like YTX12ABS is the way to go rather than YTX12BS due to the former being a smaller battery and fitting under the seat better

Battery woes
Hi, I've got a 2001 V-Raptor which has been stood around for a while (18 months ish) and it's being a bit temperamental, (rough running, clocks and lights not coming on , or being dim). So I thought a new battery wouldn't go amiss, however once I eventually got it out, and what an arseache that was,...

Re: Raptor people out there !!!
I only picked mine up over christmas and haven't ridden it yet, but I'm 6 foot and "built to last" so I may struggle, put it this way I've got a 1200 Bandit with Renthals and a jack up kit and a Fazer 1000 with a jack up kit so the Raptor should be a culture shock
